MEET MIKE ANDERSON
As publisher and editor of the Georgina Post, Mike Anderson is highly involved in our community. A passionate journalist and advocate for the residents of Georgina, he has championed their interests in his publication since 2019.
Mike is also Co-Chair of the Sutton Business Improvement Area (BIA), and sits on the Georgina Chamber of Commerce's Advocacy Committee, which lobbies all levels of government on behalf of its members.
Mike is a member of the Sutton Legion, and has served on its Executive as a Public Relations Officer (PRO). He is also a strong supporter of Health Georgina, Hospice Georgina, The Salvation Army, and the Georgina Community Food Pantry.
Mike's support has been acknowledged with certificates of appreciation from The Salvation Army, The United Way Greater Toronto, Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), and the Grand Lodge of Ukraine for helping Ukrainian refugees settle in our community.
Mike graduated from the University of Western Ontario's Masters of Journalism program in 1992. He worked as a producer for CBC TV News, CTV’s Canada AM and TVO, and had a career at LCBO Corporate Communications for 23 years, working closely with three past Presidents & CEOs. He also successfully co-chaired the LCBO’s United Way campaign in 2015 raising a record $3.8M.
Mike’s commitment to improving our community and helping people will ensure strong representation and leadership for residents of Ward 4 at Georgina Council. He would be honoured to serve the community he loves and calls home.
